How Much Does Snowmobile Insurance Cost?

0

When you’re looking at snowmobile insurance rates in Maine, you will find that there’s really no standard rate that you can be quoted.

It is almost always going to be considerably less expensive than insuring your primary vehicle, but there are a lot of factors at play in determining your snowmobile rates, including the following:

  • Coverage options
  • Driving record
  • Your age
  • Your profession
  • Your place of residence
  • Where you’re going to be riding your snowmobile
  • Make, model and year
  • Purpose for riding your snowmobile

And of course, higher deductible = lower premiums, just like with your primary auto policy.

That being said, we can tell you that the typical range of what you can expect to pay for snowmobile insurance, year-round, is anywhere from one to five hundred dollars annually.

Again, there are a lot of factors at play, and there are outliers. Some snowmobiles may cost a little less, and others may cost more. But, if you have a reasonably clean driving record and your snowmobile wasn’t hand-built by an Italian car-maker, that’s about the range that you can expect when you sign up for insurance on your snowmobile.

There are high-end, luxury snowmobiles that may break the five-hundred-dollar barrier, but by and large you’re going to be insuring your snowmobile for less than that amount.

While you might only drive your snowmobile for a few months out of the year, it’s never a good idea to ride without insurance. Even when you’re comfortable paying collision costs out of your own pocket, liability damages can add up fast. Get covered and drive safe.
