Money is a term that triggers almost all individuals. Ever since money became the medium of exchange after the barter system it went under various controversies. And among many, ‘money can’t buy happiness’ remains to be a popular controversial topic. In this fast-developing busy world, some believe that they can continue to be in peace, even if their luck doesn’t bring them money. They, define money to be just a printed piece of paper, and not a subject to get priority. But, when we look around we find that lack of money is certain to buy you depression and various miseries.
Why Money Is Important?
While some philosophers have spent their entire life, explaining the need of eternal happiness, let us come to the fact that eternal happiness is an extinct feeling in this busy world. In this century the state of being happy is achieved when needs are fulfilled, and every ‘survival need’ deals with the exchange of money. Human emotions and feelings rarely feed a hungry stomach or give a vagabond a shelter, and don’t support for a long run at all!
- Money gets you shelter: Even if not a huge bungalow, four walls with a roof on the top is a universal need in mankind. This not only protects us from nature’s effects but also keeps us safe from unwanted observations. But this basic need is not free of cost, even maintaining this need demands money.
- You buy yourself food in exchange of money: Everyone is not Bear Gryll who can feed the stomach with any possible thing. And one can hardly survive for a couple of days without food. Hence money is important to buy your food, for you need to survive!
- Clothing is afforded by money: Now this is what makes a clear distinguish between a human being and an animal. We need to cover our body, because we are drowned in the sense of shyness. And again, money is important, because society respects a dressed body.
Think a life without these three basic needs; would you still call your life a happy one? Apart from these basic needs, life is always ready to experience a lot more comforts and all it costs is, the expense of money. So, ultimately if you don’t have money, you have nothing!
Choices Vary According To Money
We see some people busy thinking how to save money because of low financial support, sacrificing many of their choices, which ultimately leads to the sacrifice of many happy moments; either for a secured old-age or for a secured future of their children. Whereas we even see some happily living their choicest life, because of the bulk of the money they owe. Thus we can’t deny the fact that money gives us choices and you get more self-control in your life, who doesn’t want this to happen! So, money does buy happiness.
